Appeal 2013
Total raised this year £5,000:00
My year started with a splash so to speak; Bro. Kevin Lister, Sister Tracey Saunders & myself braving the waters of the Solent on New Years Day. It was a worthwhile challenge as this alone has raised £655 in sponsorship for the appeal. My grateful thanks to Tracey & Kevin but most of all to those of you that sponsored us.
My thanks also to the Victory Lodge for their generous donation of £164.50 to start the appeal. Bertie Bassett is back with us this year and is looking forward to making your acquaintance in lodge. He needs to put on some weight with your help.
I shall be supporting three registered charities this year and also doing what I can to support appeals run in minor lodges.
1. The Friends of PICU is the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit based in Southampton General Hospital caring for children from New Born to 17 years old, 24 hours a day, on a one to one basis. This charity aims to support not only the children but also their families, providing vital equipment & services not normally provided by the statutory authorities. The charity also maintains the family accommodation which is close to the ward so that parents can get some rest too.

2. HIOWAA… Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance. A service which saves many lives but relies solely on charity to keep it in the air. This service is of benefit not only for us living on the mainland but also those on the Isle of Wight.

3. Wessex Holiday Scheme. We should all be aware of what the scheme is about by now but just in case you don’t… The aim is to give under privileged children and families a holiday in the caravan sited at Church Farm Holiday Park in Pagham. The caravan is also available to hire for your own holiday.

Looking forward to your continued support….Lets have a good year
Bro. Gus
2013 and my year as Provincial Grand Primo are now over and it is time to reflect on how quick and enjoyable it was for me. Firstly I must thank most sincerely all those Brothers and Sisters that have helped and supported me over the past year not only in fundraising but in visits to lodges and glade.
The final total for the 2013 appeal a fantastic £5,000. The three main charities each receiving £1,500
The friends of PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) at Southampton Hospital
Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance
Wessex Holiday Scheme
The other £500 goes towards the Newtown Lodge special appeal.
I hope Bro. David Eves KOM PGP 2014 gets the same support that I have enjoyed and wish him all the best in his endeavours during his year of office .
It has been a privilege to have been the principal officer of the Province and thank you for giving me the opportunity.
